About Photo Authentic

The Mission

I believe every photographer deserves to make a great living doing the work they love. With Photo Authentic, I want to help all photographers gain the business skills they need to profit $100,000 or more.

The Story

As a self-taught photographer, I know many of us never learned business skills we desperately needed before starting our careers. If we did have some training, it was very surface level, and it did not give a solid foundation to build a long-lasting career. Many of us struggle to gain traction and make professional photography a 6-figure income-generating business.

I did it the hard way. I spent 12+ years slogging through ups and downs of always chasing the next job that didn’t pay very well. It wasn’t until I started working with a business coach that I learned how to take my career to the next level and start making six figures a year. After working with a coach (and I still do), I have seen a steady increase in shoots, income, and I love every job I shoot. I now consistently profit over six figures a year, and I do so while shooting less than 50 jobs per year.

When you join Photo Authentic, I will be here as your business coach and mentor. I will walk you through the steps you need to take to reach your potential faster than going alone.

I hope that all Photo Authentic members become the new breed of modern commercial photographers. They will be successful, energetic, and have good influences on those around them. They will stand up for fair pay. And they will have the skills they need to get more clients, make more money, and shoot the work they love.

About Me

Lincoln Barbour

I am an award-winning photographer of architecture and architectural products. My approach to photography focuses on how design relates to human interaction. I have an uncanny ability to balance highly technical shots with moments of real life. My style of photography has earned me top-notch clients from around the world.

Since beginning my professional photography career in 2002, I have photographed for top brands like Hunter Douglas, Panasonic, Nike, UBS, and Jeld-Wen. I’ve shot for brands working with agencies like CMD, Egg, and Olson. I have also shot for some of the biggest names in architecture and design, such as DLR Group, Boora, Mahlum, SRG Partnership Inc, and famed Portland interior designers Jessica Helgerson and Andee Hess of Osmose. My editorial credits include Elle Decor, Dwell, Better Homes & Gardens, Martha Stewart Living, Country Living, Bon Appétit, and Portland Monthly as well as international magazines including Spaces (UK), 20 Private Wohnträume (Germany), Home Beautiful (Australia), and Interiors (South Korea). My work has also been published in several books from Taunton Press and Design*Sponge at Home (Artisan, 2011).

When not making beautiful images of the built world around me, I spend my days in Virginia with my wife, two children, and three crazy cats. I am also a novice chef, an outdoor enthusiast, a pinball lover, and have a silly, offbeat sense of humor.
